Microsoft Expands Agent 365 to UAE Data Centre as AI Agent Adoption Grows
Microsoft has announced that Agent 365 will become available to customers in the UAE data centre from October 2026, giving organisations in the country a local option for observing, governing and securing AI agents as adoption expands across enterprise environments. Microsoft’s UAE Agent 365 announcement says the move comes as organisations shift from AI experimentation towards enterprise-scale deployment.
The announcement was made at GISEC Global 2026 in Dubai, which runs from September 16 to 18 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai.
What is Microsoft Agent 365?
Microsoft Agent 365 is a centralised control plane for AI agents, rather than an AI-agent building platform. It is designed to help IT and security teams discover, manage, govern and secure agents operating across an organisation, including Microsoft-built, third-party and custom agents. Microsoft’s Agent 365 documentation describes the service as a per-user platform for managing AI agents across an organisation.
The platform brings together Microsoft’s identity, security and data-protection capabilities. These include Microsoft Entra for agent identity and access controls, Microsoft Purview for data security and compliance, and Microsoft Defender for security and threat protection. Microsoft also provides centralised agent management through the Microsoft 365 admin centre.
Microsoft groups Agent 365 around three areas: observability, governance and security. Its agent registry and mapping capabilities are designed to help organisations identify agents operating across their environments, while governance controls cover areas such as onboarding, access, lifecycle management and audit trails. Security capabilities extend Microsoft’s existing controls to agent identities, applications, data and agent activity.
Agent 365 became generally available to commercial customers globally on May 1, 2026. The UAE announcement therefore represents an expansion of its regional availability rather than the global launch of the product.

The move comes alongside broader investment in sovereign and locally processed AI services in the UAE. For example, Abu Dhabi Government’s Frontier Employee Programme says its Microsoft 365 Copilot deployment uses Advanced Data Residency, with AI processing taking place within UAE borders.
How much does Agent 365 cost?
Agent 365 is available as a standalone subscription for US$15 per user per month, paid annually, and is also available as part of Microsoft 365 E7. Microsoft’s current pricing information lists the standalone price at $15 per user per month.
The service is licensed per user rather than per agent. Microsoft says users who interact with, manage or sponsor agents need the appropriate Agent 365 licence, while agents themselves do not require separate licences. Agent 365 is available as a standalone subscription and is also included in Microsoft 365 E7.
Microsoft’s licensing requirements vary by customer and user type. For enterprise information workers, Microsoft lists Microsoft 365 E5 as a prerequisite, while other licensing combinations apply to frontline, SMB, and education customers.
Why Microsoft is emphasising AI agent governance
Microsoft says AI agents are moving from pilots into everyday business operations in the UAE, increasing the need for visibility, governance and security as agents gain greater access to enterprise systems.

Part of a wider UAE AI push
The Agent 365 expansion comes as the UAE continues to increase its use of AI across government and enterprise operations.
In July, Abu Dhabi Government announced the deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot to 26,000 additional civil servants across 27 government entities, bringing the total number of licences to 35,000. The government said the licences use Advanced Data Residency, with AI processing taking place within UAE borders. Abu Dhabi Government’s announcement also said the programme is supported by AI training, governance and security measures.
The wider UAE agentic AI ecosystem is also developing through partnerships. In July, G42’s Inception42 and Microsoft announced a collaboration involving Inception42’s Catalyst platform and Microsoft Copilot, aimed at improving interoperability between the two environments. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) report said the collaboration supports the UAE’s broader national agentic AI direction.
The Agent 365 expansion comes as the UAE pursues a broader government AI programme, with a target of deploying autonomous Agentic AI across 50% of government sectors, services and operations within two years. WAM reported in July that the initiative includes a target for AI-agent use across 50% of federal government operations within the same period.
